Did Jesus want to sin?

About joshkellar

I'm married to an incredible woman of God and have two daughters that love to laugh and delight in the Lord. My goal in life is to bring others into closer relationship with God by engaging them in His story as we journey together in a faith-filled community. The basis for every decision I make in life comes back to my calling to share the love of God with those around me. My hope is that at every opportunity I will encourage others into a greater lifelong journey of discipleship.

  1. You solved that with record brevity, AB.

  2. What do you mean by “want”? Did he feel an emotional tug towards sin? Was he tempted by the thought of pleasurable sensation to indulge in vice? For that definition, I would say yes, Jesus endured the same temptations we do, so I would guess that he experienced the same “wanting” of forbidden things. He did not, however, <>intellectually<> want to sin, I think. And it was this conscious awareness of the trap laid by his carnal desires which helped him to avoid sin. So from that perspective, no, of course Jesus didn’t want to sin.Like ice cream. I may want a bowl of ice cream, but if I’m trying to lose weight, from another perspective the last thing I want is a bowl of ice cream.
